The Hyundai XG is the full-size front wheel drive sedan Hyundai sold in North America from 2001 through 2005. The XG was Hyundai's first serious entry in the US near-luxury sedan slot above the Sonata, and the direct predecessor to the Hyundai Azera. The XG ran under two trim names during US sales: the XG300 (2001 only) carried the 2.5L V6, and the XG350 (2002-2005) carried the larger 3.5L V6. Both share the same chassis, the same body, and the same mounting interface. Every XG uses 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore and M12x1.5 thread, so the XG is a single-pattern car across its US lifespan. Hyundai discontinued the XG after the 2005 model year and replaced it with the Azera in the lineup for 2006, which carries the same bolt pattern and hub bore. The XG platform is now a closed historical range, but the aftermarket window is well documented.

The Hyundai XG Bolt Pattern

Every XG sold in North America uses 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 thread, and 5 lugs. The XG300 (2001 only) and the XG350 (2002-2005) carry the same mounting spec. The trim change from XG300 to XG350 in 2002 was an engine upgrade (2.5L V6 to 3.5L V6), not a chassis or wheel change. Both share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, thread pitch, and aftermarket fitment window in our catalog.

The imperial nickname for 5x114.3 is 5x4.5, since 114.3mm equals exactly 4.5 inches. That pattern is shared across the modern Hyundai-Kia mid-size and full-size sedan lineup, plus the Honda Civic from 2004 forward, the Nissan Altima, most Toyota Camry generations, and the Mazda6. It is one of the most common 5-lug patterns in the modern automotive market, which gives the XG one of the deeper aftermarket wheel pools for an early-2000s full-size FWD sedan.

One detail that catches buyers: 5x114.3 is NOT the same as 5x115 used on some American sedans (the Chrysler 300, the Dodge Charger LX, the Buick Lucerne). The two patterns sit only 0.7mm apart but they do not bolt across. The lug studs will not line up at that spacing. The 5x4.5 nickname refers specifically to 5x114.3 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). Wheels marketed as "5x4.5" without a metric callout are 5x114.3 wheels, which is the correct XG pattern. Stick to 5x114.3 / 5x4.5 specifically on every XG year.

XG300 vs XG350 and the Fitment Box

The XG300 launched the platform in North America for the 2001 model year, with a 2.5L V6 engine. For 2002, Hyundai upgraded the engine to a 3.5L V6 and renamed the car the XG350. The XG350 ran from 2002 through 2005. The chassis, body, suspension geometry, and wheel mounting interface stayed the same across both trims. The XG350's engine change does not affect bolt pattern, hub bore, thread pitch, or aftermarket fitment window. Trim levels within the XG350 (base and L) also do not change the wheel mounting. Every US XG year and trim runs the same 5x114.3 / 67.1mm / M12x1.5 mounting spec.

The XG is a square (non-staggered) car. The same wheel spec works front and rear. There is no factory stagger on the XG and our aftermarket window respects that. The XG is also a front wheel drive sedan across its entire US lifespan. There is no AWD XG in the US market.
