Infiniti Q40 and Q50 Sedan Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Infiniti Q40 and Q50 Sedan are the two badges Infiniti applied to its compact luxury sedan line after the 2014 naming convention change. The Q40 (2014-2015) is the renamed G37 Sedan, carried forward on the V36 chassis under the new badge while the all-new Q50 launched alongside it. The Q50 (2014-2024) is the V37 second generation, which ran for eleven model years before Infiniti ended Q50 production after the 2024 model year and transitioned to an SUV-only US lineup. Element Wheels measures fitment across both nameplates and every drivetrain and trim Infiniti offered. The Q50 Red Sport 400 sits at the top of the V37 trim ladder with sport Akebono brakes and a unique inner-barrel clearance window. Every Q40 and Q50 Sedan runs 5x114.3 (also called 5x4.5 imperial) with a 66.1mm hub bore, so the bolt pattern is consistent across the platform. Drivetrain and brake package matter more than year on this hub.
Find Your Infiniti Q40 or Q50 Sedan
Pick your nameplate, year range, drivetrain, and trim to see wheels and rims that fit your specific car. The bolt pattern is 5x114.3 / 66.1mm hub bore across every Q40 and Q50 Sedan. Drivetrain matters: RWD supports optional staggered fitment, AWD is non-staggered. Trim matters on the V37: the Red Sport 400 ships with sport Akebono brakes (4-piston front, 2-piston rear) and a tighter inner-barrel window than the base car.
The Q40/Q50 Sedan Bolt Pattern and the G37 Rename
Every Infiniti Q40 and Q50 Sedan runs the 5x114.3 bolt pattern, also called 5x4.5 imperial (114.3mm = 4.5 inches exactly), with a 66.1mm factory hub bore. The pattern is consistent across both nameplates and every trim. A wheel built for one Q40/Q50 Sedan variant will bolt onto another at the lug-hole level. What changes between variants is brake clearance, drivetrain stagger constraints, and trim-specific inner-barrel windows, not the bolt math.
A cross-pattern caution that applies to every 5x114.3 platform: 5x114.3 is NOT the same as the 5x115 pattern used on Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, and similar American sedans. The two patterns sit roughly 0.7mm apart and are not interchangeable, even though the difference sounds tiny. The imperial nickname 5x4.5 refers only to 5x114.3 (because 114.3mm = 4.5 inches exactly). Calling 5x115 "5x4.5" is wrong and forcing a 5x115 wheel onto a 5x114.3 hub puts the stud loading off-center, which is a safety issue. Stick to wheels listed for 5x114.3 specifically.
The Q40 (2014-2015) is the renamed G37 Sedan. Infiniti changed its naming convention for the 2014 model year, moving from the alphanumeric format (G37, M37, FX35, EX35) to the Q-and-QX scheme. The 2014-2015 Q40 is the V36 chassis carried forward under the new badge, on the same platform as the 2008-2013 G37 Sedan. If you have a G37 Sedan parts file, the Q40 is the same car under a different badge. The Q50 launched as the all-new V37 second generation for the 2014 model year and ran alongside the Q40 for two years before the Q40 was dropped after 2015. Q50 production then continued through the 2024 model year, when Infiniti ended its US sedan lineup. Compare across the rest of the Infiniti lineup at our Infiniti wheels and rims hub.
Why Drivetrain and Brake Package Matter on the Q50
The V37 Q50 splits cleanly into base and Red Sport 400, and into RWD and AWD. Each combination has its own measured fitment window. The Red Sport 400 carries sport Akebono brakes (4-piston front, 2-piston rear) that are physically larger than the base car's brakes. That is normal on a performance variant. The front axle does the majority of the braking work and Infiniti scales the front caliper accordingly. The Akebono front caliper takes more inner clearance behind the front wheel face than the base brake, so the diameter and width windows shift on Red Sport.
Drivetrain matters in a specific way: AWD is non-staggered (same wheel and tire front and rear), while RWD supports an optional staggered fitment on both the base car and Red Sport. AWD-must-be-square is a drivetrain constraint, not a clearance one. Running a wider rear on an AWD Q50 puts uneven rolling diameter into the transfer case and damages the drivetrain over time. If you have an AWD Q50, plan on a square setup. If you have a RWD Q50, the wider rear is on the table.

How We Confirm Fitment on Infiniti Q40 and Q50 Sedan Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every Q40 and Q50 Sedan generation, drivetrain, and trim. For this platform that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height (base vs Akebono sport on Red Sport 400), hub protrusion, lug seat depth, and the staggered front-vs-rear fitment on RWD trims. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. That measurement work is what produced the trim-specific and drivetrain-specific fitment windows on this page.
Infiniti Q40 and Q50 Sedan Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on an Infiniti Q40 or Q50 Sedan?
Every Q40 (2014-2015) and Q50 Sedan (2014-2024) runs 5x114.3 (also called 5x4.5 imperial, because 114.3mm = 4.5 inches exactly) with a 66.1mm hub bore. The pattern is consistent across both nameplates, every drivetrain, and every trim. What changes between variants is brake clearance and the staggered-vs-square fitment, not the bolt math.
Is the 2014 Q40 the same car as the G37 Sedan?
Essentially yes. The Q40 (2014-2015) is the renamed G37 Sedan, carried forward on the V36 chassis under the 2014 Infiniti naming convention change, when Infiniti moved from the alphanumeric format (G37, M37, FX35) to the Q-and-QX scheme. The chassis, drivetrain, and most fitment characteristics are the same as the 2008-2013 G37 Sedan. If you have a G37 Sedan parts file, the Q40 will mostly match. The Q40 was only sold for two model years (2014 and 2015) while the all-new Q50 launched alongside it. The Q40 was discontinued after 2015 and the Q50 carried the lineup through 2024.
Does the Red Sport 400 brake package change the wheels I can buy?
The bolt pattern and hub bore are the same as a base Q50 (5x114.3 / 66.1mm). What changes is the front brake clearance. The Red Sport 400 ships with sport Akebono brakes (4-piston front, 2-piston rear) that are physically larger than the base car's brakes. The Akebono front caliper takes more inner clearance behind the front wheel face, so the smallest measured Red Sport diameter is 19 inch where the base car supports 18 inch. Most aftermarket Red Sport builds land at 19 or 20 inch.
Can I stagger my Q40 or Q50?
It depends on the drivetrain. RWD Q40 and Q50 Sedans accept staggered fitment as an option on both the base car and Red Sport 400. AWD Q50 Sedans are non-staggered. Running a wider rear on an AWD Q50 introduces an uneven rolling diameter that the transfer case is not designed to handle, and that mismatch damages the drivetrain over time. If you have an AWD Q50, plan on a square setup. If you have a RWD Q40 or Q50, the wider rear is on the table.
Will Q60 Coupe wheels fit my Q50 Sedan?
The bolt pattern crosses. Both the Q50 Sedan and the Q60 Coupe run 5x114.3 / 66.1mm. But fitment is not identical. The Q60 Coupe has a different track width and fender profile than the Q50 Sedan, and the Red Sport variants on each car have their own measured windows. A wheel that fit a Q60 Red Sport will not always sit the same on a Q50 Red Sport. We measure each platform separately and the Year/Make/Model search returns only wheels fit-tested on your specific car.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Q40 or Q50 Sedan?
Our Element-measured aftermarket window tops at 20 inch across every Q40 and Q50 Sedan variant. Most aftermarket Q50 builds land at 19 or 20 inch and pick width and offset for the look. The Red Sport 400 trims start at 19 inch because the Akebono front caliper takes more inner clearance than the base brake. Above 20 inch the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality on a sport luxury sedan drops sharply.
Do I need hub centric rings on an Infiniti Q40 or Q50 Sedan?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 66.1mm. The 66.1mm hub bore is consistent across every Q40 and Q50 Sedan generation and trim. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
How do I find the right wheels for my specific Q40 or Q50 build?
Three steps. Confirm your nameplate (Q40 for the 2014-2015 V36, the renamed G37 Sedan, and Q50 for the 2014-2024 V37 second generation). Confirm your drivetrain (RWD or AWD). Confirm your trim (base or Q50S / Red Sport 400). Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Q40 or Q50 Sedan and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. If you have a Red Sport 400, contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
