Kia Sportage Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Kia Sportage is one of the highest-volume compact crossovers in the US market and a steady aftermarket wheel and rim seller across the four-generation modern run in our catalog. The bolt pattern has stayed constant through every generation Element measures fitment on. From the 2nd gen KM (2003-2010) through the current 5th gen NQ5 (2023 and up), the Sportage runs 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore. Element Wheels measures fitment on the KM, SL, QL, and NQ5 generations, tracks the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid powertrains on the NQ5, and covers the X-Pro off-road trim. The Sportage is also same-chassis with the Hyundai Tucson on the modern Hyundai-Kia midsize crossover platform, so the bolt pattern and hub bore cross between the two cars by design. Pick your generation below for the fitment specs that apply to your specific Sportage.

Find Your Kia Sportage Generation

Pick your generation to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Sportage. The bolt pattern is 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore on every modern Sportage. The fitment window steps up by generation as the wheel diameter grows from 16 inch on the earliest KM to 22 inch on the current NQ5.

The Kia Sportage Bolt Pattern

Every modern Kia Sportage uses 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore. That covers the KM (2003-2010), the SL (2011-2016), the QL (2017-2022), and the current NQ5 (2023 and up). The 5x114.3 pattern is also written as 5x4.5 in imperial; 5x4.5 refers ONLY to 5x114.3 (114.3mm = 4.5 inches). It does NOT refer to 5x115, which is a different bolt pattern used on Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, and similar American sedans. The two patterns sit about 0.7mm apart and are not interchangeable. A 5x115 wheel will not bolt onto a Sportage.

The 67.1mm hub bore is the Hyundai-Kia midsize crossover standard, not the same as the Toyota family 60.1mm bore. 5x114.3 wheels listed specifically for a Toyota Camry, RAV4, or Highlander will physically bolt to a Sportage because the bolt math matches, but the smaller Toyota centerbore wheel will not hub-center on the Sportage without a hub centric ring (or the wheel uses a 67.1mm centerbore intended for the Hyundai-Kia hub). Sportage-specific wheel listings on our site use the 67.1mm centerbore by default. Note that the original 1st gen Sportage JE (1995-2002), a body-on-frame compact SUV, is not in our catalog. The Sportage moved to a unibody car-based platform with the 2nd gen KM in 2003 and the 5x114.3 / 67.1mm spec has held since. Compare across the rest of the Kia lineup at our Kia wheels and rims hub.

Sportage and Tucson: Same Chassis, Same Bolt Pattern

The Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson are platform siblings inside the Hyundai-Kia corporate group. The current 5th gen Sportage NQ5 (2023 and up) and the current 4th gen Hyundai Tucson NX4 (2022 and up) sit on the shared Hyundai-Kia N3 platform with the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and similar fitment windows. Earlier generations of the two cars were also platform-paired, so the 5x114.3 / 67.1mm spec has held across every modern Sportage and Tucson. A wheel that fits a Sportage NQ5 will physically bolt to a Tucson NX4 (and vice versa), though brake clearance and final offset window are measured on each car separately at our Chandler, Arizona facility. If you have a Tucson instead of a Sportage, the right hub is the Hyundai Tucson wheels and rims hub.

Most Sportage trims share the same fitment window within a generation. LX, EX, SX Prestige, and X-Line on a given QL or NQ5 all use 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore and run square (same width front and rear). The Sportage Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid (NQ5, 2023 and up) share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, brake package, and fitment window as the gasoline Sportage of the same trim. The hybrid powertrains do not change wheel fitment. The X-Pro trim on the NQ5 ships with an 17 inch all-terrain setup from the factory; aftermarket buyers on the X-Pro commonly stay at 17 or 18 inch but switch to a more aggressive all-terrain wheel design.

How We Confirm Fitment on Kia Sportage Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every modern Sportage generation back to the 2nd gen KM. For the Sportage that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation on the 67.1mm Hyundai-Kia hub, lug seat geometry, and turning clearance at full lock with the wheel and tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Kia Sportage Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Kia Sportage?

5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore on every modern Kia Sportage from the 2nd gen KM (2003-2010) through the current 5th gen NQ5 (2023 and up). The pattern is also written as 5x4.5 in imperial. The bolt pattern and hub bore have not changed across any of the four modern Sportage generations.

Do Hyundai Tucson wheels fit a Kia Sportage?

Yes, on bolt pattern and hub bore. The Sportage and Tucson are platform siblings inside the Hyundai-Kia corporate group, with the modern Sportage NQ5 (2023 and up) and Tucson NX4 (2022 and up) sharing the Hyundai-Kia N3 platform. Both run 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore. A wheel that fits a Sportage NQ5 physically bolts to a Tucson NX4 and vice versa. Brake clearance and final offset window are measured on each car separately. Earlier generations of the two cars were also platform-paired.

Does the Sportage Hybrid use different wheels than the gasoline Sportage?

No. The Sportage Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid (NQ5, 2023 and up) share the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 67.1mm hub bore, brake package, and fitment window as the gasoline Sportage of the same generation and trim. The hybrid powertrains do not change wheel fitment. A wheel that fits a gasoline NQ5 EX fits a hybrid NQ5 EX.

Sportage X-Pro: does it run different wheels than a base Sportage?

The X-Pro runs the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern and 67.1mm hub bore as the rest of the NQ5 range. It ships from the factory with a 17 inch all-terrain setup tuned for off-road use, where the rest of the NQ5 range typically runs 18, 19, or 20 inch on-road wheels. Most X-Pro aftermarket buyers stay at 17 or 18 inch and switch to a more aggressive all-terrain wheel design rather than chasing larger diameter.

Are Kia Sportage wheels staggered?

No. Every modern Sportage generation from the 2nd gen KM through the current NQ5 runs square (same width front and rear) from the factory. The Sportage is a front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive crossover across every generation. A square setup also keeps tire rotation simple.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Kia Sportage?

Our measured aftermarket window tops at 22 inch on the QL (2017-2022) and NQ5 (2023 and up) generations. The KM and SL top at 20 inch in our measured window. Most aftermarket Sportage upgrades on the NQ5 land at 18, 19, 20, or 22 inch. Above 22 inch, tire sourcing gets thin and the fender clearance margin disappears under suspension travel.

Will Toyota or Honda wheels fit a Kia Sportage on the same 5x114.3 pattern?

Bolt pattern crosses but hub bore does not. 5x114.3 is one of the most common 5-lug patterns in the world (Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, and most of the Hyundai-Kia lineup), so the wheels physically bolt up to the Sportage. But Toyota uses a 60.1mm centerbore and Honda uses 64.1mm, both smaller than the Sportage's 67.1mm hub. A wheel built with a Toyota or Honda centerbore will not hub-center on a Sportage without a hub centric ring. Wheels listed for a Sportage use the 67.1mm centerbore by default.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Kia Sportage?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 67.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
