McLaren 720S Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The 2017-2023 McLaren 720S is McLaren's Super Series mid-engine supercar, built around the carbon fiber MonoCage II tub and powered by the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter M840T V8. The 720S family also includes the 720S Spider, the track-focused 765LT and 765LT Spider, and the 2024 and up 750S, which is a heavily updated continuation of the same platform on the MonoCage II-S tub. Every 720S, 765LT, and 750S uses a 5x112 bolt pattern with a 57.1mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug bolts. The 720S is a must-staggered car from the factory with a wider rear wheel and tire than the front, and the front brake package is larger than the rear with carbon ceramic Brembos standard across the range. Element Wheels measures 720S fitment directly on the car at our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, including the forged options shipped on the 765LT and 750S. Pick your variant below for wheels and rims fit-tested on the 720S.

Find Your McLaren 720S Variant

Every 720S, 720S Spider, 765LT, 765LT Spider, and 2024 and up 750S shares the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and staggered front-vs-rear geometry. The MonoCage II and MonoCage II-S tubs use the same wheel mounting interface and the same brake hardware family, so a wheel that fits a 720S Coupe will also fit a 720S Spider, a 765LT, or a 750S on the same fitment math.

The McLaren 720S Bolt Pattern and Lug Bolts

Every 2017 and up McLaren 720S, 765LT, and 750S uses a 5x112 bolt pattern with a 57.1mm hub bore. The spec is identical across the Coupe, the Spider, the LT trims, and the 2024 and up 750S continuation, and it matches the Sports Series 570S, 570GT, 600LT, and 540C as well. The 5x112 pattern is the same VW Group passenger-car spec used on most modern Audi sedans, the Audi R8, the Lamborghini Gallardo, and the 5-lug Lamborghini Huracan. McLaren uses the same lug count and the same thread spec, but the chassis, suspension, and brake hardware are McLaren-specific. A wheel built for a 5x112 Audi or Lamborghini will not necessarily clear the 720S front brake caliper, which is why we measure on the McLaren platform directly.

The 720S mounts wheels with lug bolts rather than lug nuts on studs. A lug bolt is a single fastener that threads directly into the hub, so the wheel is held to the hub by the bolt itself rather than dropped onto pre-installed studs. The thread spec on the 720S is M14x1.5. There is no stud to align the wheel before tightening, so the hub-centric fit on the 57.1mm bore and the correct bolt length both matter more on a 720S than on a stud-and-nut car. The wrong bolt length is the most common 720S installation mistake we see, so we ship the correct bolts with every McLaren 720S wheel order. Compare across the rest of the McLaren lineup at our McLaren wheels and rims hub.

Why Every McLaren 720S Runs Staggered Fitment

The 720S is a mid-engine, rear-drive McLaren with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 mounted behind the cabin. The rear tires put down the power and the rear track is wider than the front, so McLaren specs a wider rear wheel and tire on every 720S, 765LT, and 750S. From the factory the 720S ran a 19x8.5 front and a 20x11 rear, paired with 245/35R19 fronts and 305/30R20 rears. The 765LT stepped up to lighter forged wheels with track-focused Pirelli Trofeo R tires, and the 750S followed the same staggered approach with refinements. Element's aftermarket window on the 720S family covers 19 to 21 inch diameter, with front widths in the 8.5 to 9 inch range and rear widths in the 11 to 12 inch range. We do not recommend square setups on a 720S. The chassis is engineered around the staggered geometry and the rear arches are physically wider than the fronts.

The 720S has a larger front brake package than rear. That is normal on a performance car of this class, and on the 720S the difference is especially pronounced because every 720S, 765LT, and 750S shipped with carbon ceramic Brembos as standard equipment. The front carbon ceramic rotor sits at 390mm with a 6-piston caliper, while the rear runs a 380mm rotor with a 4-piston caliper. The front wheel needs more inner-barrel clearance for the larger front caliper, which is one of the variables we measure on the 720S directly rather than estimating from factory spec sheets. This is also why a wheel built for the rear of a 720S will often not clear the front caliper even when the bolt pattern and offset numbers look workable on paper.

How We Confirm Fitment on McLaren 720S Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the McLaren 720S. For the 720S that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height measured separately on the front and rear because the front carbon ceramic package is larger, hub protrusion past the mounting surface, and the lug-bolt seat depth that is specific to European exotics. The 720S, the 765LT, and the 750S all share the same MonoCage II or MonoCage II-S carbon tub, so a fitment that works on one Super Series car works across the rest of the family. We confirm the fitment box on the 720S itself rather than carrying numbers across from the 570S Sports Series cars, which use a different MonoCell II tub and a different brake package. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the car. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

McLaren 720S Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a McLaren 720S?

Every 2017 and up McLaren 720S, 720S Spider, 765LT, 765LT Spider, and the 2024 and up 750S uses a 5x112 bolt pattern with a 57.1mm hub bore. Mounting is by lug bolt rather than lug nut and stud, with an M14x1.5 thread. Lug bolt length depends on the aftermarket wheel's mounting face thickness, so we ship the correct bolts with every McLaren 720S wheel order.

What is the hub bore on a McLaren 720S?

The hub bore on every McLaren 720S, 765LT, and 750S is 57.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

Are McLaren 720S wheels staggered?

Yes. The 720S is mid-engine and rear-drive, with a wider rear wheel and tire than the front from the factory. Stock is 19x8.5 front and 20x11 rear. Element's aftermarket window runs 19-21 inch diameter with 8.5-9 inch front widths and 11-12 inch rear widths. The rear arches are physically wider than the fronts and the chassis is engineered around the staggered geometry, so we do not recommend square fitments.

Does a McLaren 720S use lug bolts or lug nuts?

Lug bolts. The 720S uses M14x1.5 lug bolts that thread directly into the hub rather than lug nuts on pre-installed studs. The correct bolt length depends on the aftermarket wheel's mounting face thickness, so the wrong length is the most common 720S installation mistake. We ship the right bolts with every McLaren 720S wheel order.

Do the 720S, 765LT, and 750S share the same wheel fitment?

Yes. The 720S, 720S Spider, 765LT, 765LT Spider, and the 2024 and up 750S are all Super Series McLarens built on the carbon fiber MonoCage II or MonoCage II-S tub with the same wheel mounting interface, brake hardware family, and suspension geometry. Every one uses 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore on M14x1.5 lug bolts and the same staggered fitment box. Aftermarket wheels that fit a 720S Coupe will fit across the Super Series family on the same fitment math.

Are 570S wheels interchangeable with the 720S?

On paper the bolt pattern and centerbore match. The 570S Sports Series and the 720S Super Series both use 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore on M14x1.5 lug bolts. The 720S uses a different chassis (MonoCage II versus the 570S MonoCell II), a larger carbon ceramic front brake package, and a different front fender geometry, so a wheel that fit a 570S front axle does not automatically clear a 720S front caliper. We measure each platform separately and do not cross-recommend between them.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a McLaren 720S?

Our measured aftermarket window on the 720S tops at 21 inch rear diameter, with rear widths up to 12 inch. Above that, tire selection becomes difficult to source for the 720S and the fender clearance margin disappears. The most common 720S builds we ship are factory-matching 19 front and 20 rear staggered, or 20 front and 21 rear staggered for builds that want more aggressive stance.

How do I find the right wheels for my McLaren 720S?

Three steps on the 720S. Confirm your variant (720S Coupe, 720S Spider, 765LT, 765LT Spider, or 750S). Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your year and trim. Browse the wheel gallery for real-life 720S builds with size, offset, and tire captions. The correct M14x1.5 lug bolts and any hub centric rings you need ship with every order. For a more aggressive aftermarket build above factory size, contact our team for a free fitment consultation. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
