The Firebird and Trans Am use 5x120.65 shared with the Chevrolet Camaro of the same era. The Bonneville, Grand Prix, Aztek, Montana, Torrent, and Grand Am use 5x115. The G5, G6, and Solstice use 5x110. The G8 and GTO use 5x120 on the Australian Holden Commodore platform. The Vibe uses 5x100 shared with the Toyota Matrix. The Fiero uses 5x100. The G3 uses 4x100. The Pontiac Bolt Pattern Landscape

Pontiac has more bolt patterns than the lineup size suggests because the brand spanned the F-body Firebird, the modern front wheel drive sedans, the Australian Holden Commodore, and the Toyota Matrix shared Vibe.

The G8 and GTO on 5x120 are the biggest source of cross shopping surprise because the Holden Commodore platform does not share with the rest of the Pontiac lineup. The Firebird/Trans Am on 5x120.65 and the Bonneville/Grand Prix on 5x115 also do not cross even though both are rear wheel drive and front wheel drive Pontiac sedans respectively.

Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, and the G8/GTO Holden Performance Era

The Firebird and Trans Am F-body platform is the most active Pontiac collector aftermarket. The 5x120.65 (5x4.75) bolt pattern is shared with the Chevrolet Camaro and the Monte Carlo SS, El Camino, and Buick Grand National of the same era. The aftermarket selection on this pattern is broad because the collector community has stayed active. The Trans Am WS6 and Firehawk trims add larger brakes than the base Firebird, which narrows the wheel clearance window.

The G8 and GTO are the Pontiac Holden Commodore era. Both cars were built in Australia and shipped to the US with the 5x120 bolt pattern, which is unique to the Holden platform in the US market. The G8 GXP runs Brembo 4 piston front brakes that demand more clearance than the base G8. The 2004 GTO ran the LS1 V8 and the 2005-2006 GTO ran the LS2, with the LS2 brake setup being slightly larger.

The Solstice (2006-2009) and the Pontiac Vibe round out the smaller Pontiac aftermarket. The Solstice runs 5x110, shared with the Saturn Sky. The Vibe runs 5x100 shared with the Toyota Matrix and Corolla. The Vibe GT runs larger brakes than the base Vibe.

How We Confirm Fitment

Element Wheels measures fitment on Pontiac models we sell wheels for. For each chassis and brake combination we measure clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and any suspension components, brake caliper height, hub protrusion, lug height, and how much room the front wheel has when turning lock to lock. We do this on the car, not from a spec sheet.

That measurement work covers the most active Pontiac platforms across the catalog. The Trans Am WS6 and Firehawk are tracked separately from the base Firebird because of the larger brake setup. The G8 GXP is tracked separately from the base G8 because of the Brembo brakes. The Vibe is tracked on the Toyota Matrix 5x100 platform. The Solstice is tracked on the 5x110 platform shared with the Saturn Sky.
